La terrible attaque de Mers El Kébir et l’opération Catapult

Nous allons aujourd'hui aborder ensemble un des épisodes les plus controversés de la Seconde Guerre mondiale : l’opération Catapult. Catapult, c’est l’opération britannique se déroulant du 2 au 8 juillet 1940, ayant pour but la capture ou la neutralisation de la flotte française. Sa phase la plus connue est certainement l’attaque sur les navires au port de Mers El Kébir, faisant plus de 1200 morts. Alors comment ces deux nations, encore alliées quinze jours auparavant, en sont venues à de véritables actes de guerre en si peu de temps ? C’est ce que nous allons voir tout de suite !
