Courrières : la plus grosse catastrophe minière d'Europe

Quel est l’animal qui tue le plus d’humains chaque année ? Le moustique. Et la maladie la plus mortelle du monde ? Le trouble cardiaque, tout simplement ! En fait, ce sont les trucs les plus banals qu’on devrait craindre, mais on ne peut pas s’empêcher de rester horrifiés par les grandes catastrophes, les éruptions volcaniques, les explosions industrielles ou les tsunamis qui fauchent, en quelques heures, des milliers de vies. En France, le plus grand accident industriel a aussi été la plus grande catastrophe minière d’Europe, et a eu lieu à Courrières. Contrairement aux canicules ou aux épidémies, elle a été foudroyante, fauchant la vie de 1 099 personnes en seulement 2 minutes. Aujourd’hui, on va se rappeler de ses victimes, et de comment et pourquoi elles sont mortes.
