Der alltägliche Rhythmus des Dorflebens läuft durch ein schockierendes Sexualverbrechen völlig aus dem Ruder. Ein maskierter Mann hat die Wöchnerin Ingrid Willert überfallen und brutal vergewaltigt. Die Kripo ermittelt intensiv, aber ohne eine heiße Spur zu finden. Wenig später wird auch die junge Marietta überfallen. Sie kann sich mit letzter Kraft aus der Umklammerung befreien und schlägt den Maskierten durch ihr Schreien in die Flucht. Beide Frauen können den Ermittlern, Leutnant Grawe, Oberleutnant Zimmermann und Unterleutnant Görz, nur sagen, dass der Täter schwer war und einen merkwürdigen Geruch an sich hatte. Frau Willerts Nachbarin erinnert sich, ein Mopedgeräusch gehört zu haben und Marietta konkretisiert ihre Geruchswahrnehmung.
