Den Volpener Polizeimeistern Sigi und Kalle winkt Erholung. Der Männergesangs-verein ihrer Kleinstadt gibt sein traditionelles Jahreskonzert, diesmal im Rahmen eines Heimatabends auf Mallorca. Sigi und Kalle samt Kumpels und Bürgermeister mittendrin. Der Flug an Bord der „Dülmen-Air“-Maschine in Richtung Baleareninsel beginnt heiter. Doch für Sigi wird der Trip alles andere als eine Traumreise. Schon im Flieger hat er Ärger mit seiner Freundin Gabi, der Kommissarin aus Köln. Nach Ankunft der Truppe in Palmas Innenstadt brennt nach einem Anschlag das „Dülmen-Air“-Büro, und so warten die Sänger vergeblich auf ihren Transport ins Hotel. Aber es kommt noch schlimmer. Nach der feucht-fröhlich durchzockten Konzert-Nacht steht Sigi plötzlich unter Mordverdacht, denn Spielclubbesitzer Rolf Radic wird tot aufgefunden - ertränkt in seinem Pool. Der örtliche Kommissar Miguel Flexas nimmt die Ermittlungen auf. Sigi war der letzte Mensch, mit dem das spätere Opfer noch lebend gesehen wurde. Zudem hatte der Dorfpolizist ein Mord-Motiv: Er verlor beim nächtlichen Kartenspiel an Radic viel Geld.
