Die 19-jährige Paula Borchert wird tot aus der Oder in der Nähe von Frankfurt geborgen. Kommissarin Olga Lenski und ihr Kollege Adam Raczek übernehmen die Ermittlungen. Paula war erst seit kurzem als Au-pair-Mädchen bei Leo Heise angestellt. Leo ist alleinerziehender Vater und lebt mit seinen beiden kleinen Kindern im Haus seiner Eltern Katarzyna Heise und Gerd Heise. Paula, die ihren Au-pair-Job nicht sonderlich ernst nahm, war sehr kontaktfreudig und hatte sich mit Milena und deren Freund Marcin angefreundet.
