Venâncio threatens to kill José Inocêncio when he finds out from Deocleciano that the boss is interested in Maria Santa. José Inocêncio orders Deocleciano to deliver an ‘order’ to Belarmino’s farm. José Inocêncio tells Deocleciano that he can't get Maria Santa out of his head. Belarmino tries to convince Venâncio to kill José Inocêncio in exchange for land. Inácia advises José Inocêncio to forget Maria.
