After Watanabe and Katsuragi fail to convince Chazawa and his boss to let them contact Nogame and negotiate with him, the Musashino staff is left with no choice but to follow his wishes and keep the episode's plot accurate to the story's original timeline, which would end the anime on an unhappy note with the death of one of the main characters. However, Seiichi is unsatisfied with the prospect, feeling that the ending needed to be positive. Hiraoka reveals that he worked on an adaptation of another of Nogame's works, which ignored the original story and sparked significant backlash from the fanbase. Encouraged by Marukawa and Honda, Seiichi finds Nogame's email address and manages to arrange a meeting with him in person.
