Bei einem nächtlichen Überfall auf eine Tankstelle wird die Kassenkraft Birgit Drossart ermordet. Nichts deutet auf einen Raubmord hin. Die Aufnahmen der Überwachungskamera sind hilfreich. Darauf können die letzten Worte des Opfers dechiffriert werden. Offensichtlich kannten sich Täter und Opfer. Neben einem Ex-Kollegen und einem Kleinkriminellen, die beide zur Tatzeit vor Ort waren, sind für die Kommissare zwei weitere Spuren relevant. Die erste führt zu Felix Drossart, dem 25-jährigen Sohn der Toten, der einen unversöhnlichen Hass auf seine Mutter hat.
