Manuel Ried, der Star des Off-Broadwaystücks „Schwanensee Reloaded“, das derzeit in München gastiert, wird einen Tag vor der Premiere tot neben der Bühne aufgefunden. Die Ermittlungen der SOKO führen tief hinein ins Theatermilieu. Manuel Ried hatte bereits ein Engagement für den Broadway in der Tasche, was der Regisseur des Stücks, Roger Karwin, der sich als Förderer Manuels sieht, sehr kritisch kommentiert.
