Florian Knöbl, der wohlhabende Besitzer eines Möbelhauses, wird erschlagen aufgefunden. In einer der Wohnungen, die er über eine Internet-Agentur tageweise vermietete, liegt er tot am Boden.
Der Verdacht fällt zunächst auf seine von ihm in Trennung lebende Frau Barbara. Doch dann findet die SOKO heraus, dass ein ominöser Makler Knöbls Wohnungen dazu benutzt hat, um gutgläubige Mietinteressenten abzuzocken.
