Es stellt sich jedoch heraus, dass Mayrath mit einem ehemaligen Angestellten zerstritten war: Ben Aschmann. Über seinen Arbeitsrechner hatte das Opfer mehrfach nach den Paartherapeuten Ralf und Dr. Johanna Rymek gesucht, die Workshops zu diesem Thema anbieten.
