Der Buchantiquar und Diabetiker Knut Hoffmann liegt tot in seinem Laden. Todesursache ist eine Insulinüberdosis, allerdings wird in seinem Blut auch ein starkes Schlafmittel gefunden. Wurde Hoffmann von jemandem betäubt, um ihm dann die tödliche Überdosis zu verabreichen? Die erste Spur führt zu Sofia Diamantis.
