Cargos géants : comment voyagent nos achats ?

63 members

The vast majority of goods bought in France cross the globe on container ships. 90 % of international freight moves by sea. Container vessels are the spearhead of globalization—more numerous and ever larger. When containers fall overboard, their cargo washes ashore. Residents near French ports complain about pollution. Hugo Clément investigates at sea, including a trash‑laden cargo that docked in La Rochelle and was later abandoned in Senegal with its crew stranded. He also meets activists fighting maritime shipping pollution across France.
