Der Tote im Fußballstation heißt Louis Spindel, so steht es in seinem Pass. Aber seine Frau, seine legitime, ihm rechtmäßig angetraute Frau, nannte sich Irene Kohl, wenn sie ihren Louis gelegentlich in Hamburg besuchte. Das alles haben Hauptkommissar Paul Trimmel und seine Mannschaft - Höffgen, Laumen, Petersen - relativ schnell herausgefunden. Spindel, der etwas undurchsichtige Herr, hat sich aus unbekannten Gründen aus dem heimatlichen Bonsdorf im Kohlenpott abgesetzt, ist in Hamburg in einer miesen Pension untergetaucht, dann irgendwie ermordet und im Fußballstadion deponiert worden. Aber jetzt wird es schwierig: warum hat man ihn ermordet? Und vor allem: Wer hat es getan? Höffgen, Laumen und Petersen erledigen ein Laufpensum wie Lizenzfußballer, wenn sie hart trainieren...Dieser Vergleich ist ganz treffend angesichts der Tatsache, dass Spindel etwas mit Fußball zu tun gehabt hat. Hat auch sein Tod etwas mit Fußball zu tun? Oder gar mit der Skandal-Serie in der Bundesliga?
