Herbert Hoffmann erwischt ein spanisches Zimmermädchen beim Griff in seine Brieftasche. Eigentlich wollte er abreisen, weil es in der Hochsaison kein Zimmer mehr gab. Nun beschließt er, den Diebstahl zu nutzen, noch zu bleiben und sich ein paar vergnügte Tage zu machen, indem er das Angebot seines Bekannten Harald Lieck annimmt, in dessen Bungalow einzuziehen.Nach einem dreiviertel Jahr erhält Lieck die für ihn unverständliche Mitteilung, daß er wegen seines "spanischen Abenteuers" zahlen solle. Als er der Sache auf die Spur gekommen ist, dreht er den Spieß um und erpreßt seinerseits - mit einer erhöhten Summe, versteht sich - den Kindesvater Herbert Hoffmann. Doch sein Pech verfolgt ihn auch in dieser Sache. Am Ende ist er tot.
