Aufruhr in Hamburg: Bei einem Freigang mit seinem Therapeuten Simon Ruder verschwindet der verurteilte Serienmörder Born spurlos. Weil Hauptkommissar Jan Casstorff Born damals dingfest gemacht hatte, wird er zu dem Fall hinzugezogen. Doch auch er kann nicht verhindern, dass in kurzer Folge erneut zwei Prostituierte umgebracht werden.
