Thiel - 17 - Der Fluch der Mumie
Ausgerechnet der Vater von Kommissar Thiel entdeckt beim Entrümpeln einer alten Villa zufällig eine offensichtlich schon Jahrtausende alte Mumie. Den Auftrag zu der Aufräumaktion hatte Herbert Thiel von Judith Schorlemer, der Enkeltochter eines berühmten Archäologen, bekommen. Stammt die Mumie von einer der Forschungsreisen ihres Großvaters in den Nahen Osten? Prof. Dr. Wilfried Kastner, Leiter des Archäologischen Instituts der Universität in Münster, ist begeistert. Aufgrund der Inschrift auf dem Schrein vermutet er, dass die Mumie ursprünglich aus dem alten Persien stammt, was einer archäologischen Sensation gleichkommt. Doch Prof. Karl-Friedrich Boerne, als Rechtsmediziner nicht nur an dem Todeszeitpunkt interessiert, sondern auch der Todesursache auf der Spur, bezweifelt, dass Prof. Kastner recht hat. Derweil hat Kommissar Frank Thiel mit einer „frischen" Leiche zu tun. Der Vollzugsbeamte Mathias Reinhard wurde tot im Keller seiner Wohnung aufgefunden. Bei den Häftlingen war er bekannt als besonders „harter Hund". Hat hier ein ehemaliger Insasse der JVA Rache geübt? Einer der Verdächtigen ist Andreas Lechner, der gerade aus der Haft entlassen wurde.
