Walter en Ann helpen de ongelukkige schacht Jan naar het ziekenhuis. Walter is razend op Tom, maar Marianne kan hem nog intomen. Tom beseft dat hij een zware fout gemaakt heeft, maar denkt er nog goedkoop vanaf te komen, tot de schacht weer aanbelt. Ditmaal met een advocaat aan zijn zijde. Peggy vraagt aan haar moeder of Bennie niet voor een tijdje bij hen mag intrekken. Rosa weigert categoriek. En daar doet ze goed aan. Want Bennie doet nog steeds zaakjes met Neil. Toch verrast Bennie Rosa door het geld van de diefstal terug te geven. Rosa zal Peggy's voorstel nog even in beraad houden. Bianca vraagt Peggy om raad: ten eerste weet ze niet goed of ze bij vader moet blijven, dan wel bij mama intrekken. Ten tweede is er Neil die het tijd vindt worden dat ze samen naar bed gaan. De romantische ziel Bianca is daar nog niet aan toe. Peggy vindt dat flauw.

Set in the fictional town of Meerdijk, it centers around several families including Alberts, Sanders, De Jong, Van Houten and Bouwhuis.
What makes GTST exceptionally gripping is its successful incorporation of relatable life elements such as marriage and divorce as well as more extreme experiences like kidnappings and business intrigues. The series isn't afraid of tackling controversial topics either – in 2014 it became a trailblazer by featuring a gay marriage on Dutch TV.
