July 20, 1942. A train carrying rounded up foreign Jews stops at Villeneuve station. Mayor Daniel Larcher is in charge of looking after them while waiting for another train to pick them up. He decides to house them at the school, without knowing that the director Jules Bériot hides there a press used for the production of leaflets favorable to the Resistance. Sub-prefect Servier gives Marchetti a list of 28 names: foreign Jews present in Villeneuve whom the Germans have asked them to arrest.
