This is the story I was trying to tell:

It's a song about hollowing, and a story about how many of us go through this world without really thinking about our actions or what's going on.

The video starts with us as Anri - she's beginning her journey into Lothric to find Aldrich, who she's practically sworn revenge upon. She rejoins with Horace, an old companion..only to get split from him in the catacombs..wondering where he is when he's actually visible from where she's standing up above.

But it's a good thing she doesn't see him, because he's hollowed far below..and our player character executes him before he endangers anyone else.

After this, Yuria decides we're the Lord of Hollows..and organises our ceremonial marriage to the corpse of Anri.

The player character finishes the rest of the game, slays all the Lords of Cinder in his or her path...then at the end is reflective and repentant about the path they've taken.

There's a bit of a fourth wall break as we start Journey 2 for another chance at rewriting this.

We slay the heirs of fire all over again, but this time we seek to change events in Irithyll.

We meet up with Anri, alone in the church - the last time we saw her alive previously. We kill her assassin hiding in the corner before he can prepare her for marriage, and the video ends with us helping her achieve her and Horaces purpose..putting an end to Aldrich's terror.

We link the fire..and even though it's always futile - doing so is a symbol of hope and determination, which is a much more positive end to this narrative, in my opinion.
