Viola Vitale, after being investigated for a misunderstanding surrounding the death of a woman named Silvia, is assigned to investigate the murder of a young man. Inspector Francesco Demir is increasingly impressed by Viola's skills, so much so that he asks her to work with him on an unofficial investigation. Meanwhile, details about Viola's father begin to emerge, and she is torn between personal torment and new investigations.
