Chaque été, certaines stations balnéaires voient leur population multipliée par dix, au grand désespoir des locaux bien tranquilles le reste de l'année. Ces derniers subissent les nuisances, les incivilités, les tapages nocturnes et la pollution, et se sentent pris en otage par les touristes dans leur propre ville. A La Grande-Motte, 200 habitants sont furieux de voir les paillottes transformer les plages en boîte de nuit géante chaque week-end. Dans le Var, Philippe Diter a acheté un domaine dans une zone protégée et a transformé, sans permis de construire, une partie en palace de 1 600m2 avec deux héliports et trois piscines. Enfin, à Pernay, la commune est toujours sous le choc après le passage du Teknival et de ses 60 000 festivaliers.
