Fatma is an Algerian drama series set in the mid-19th century in Algeria, within the narrow streets of the old Casbah, under colonial rule and amid harsh social conditions. Fatma is a gifted young violinist who strives to fulfill her artistic ambitions despite the constraints imposed by her conservative family and community. Her path crosses with that of Ali Ben Ammar, a child of the Casbah whose life is deeply intertwined with resistance and questions of identity.
