Constance Meyer is an apprentice with a particularly unconventional background. After a wrongful conviction that landed her in prison, Constance chose to embark on a new professional career. At the age of fifty, she is a student at the École Nationale de la Magistrature. As part of her studies, Constance is assigned to work with investigating judge Frédéric Filiponi, a young jurist who is somewhat "conformist" because of his role.
