A quick refresher for lapsed viewers
If it's been a while since you visited the sleepy suburb of Sundersheim, here's what you need to remember. Season 1 premiered in October 2024 as Apple's first original German-language series. It follows Carlotta and Dedo Klatt, played by Heike Makatsch and Axel Stein, whose teenage daughter Wanda (Lea Drinda) had been missing for months. The police weren't getting anywhere, so the couple came up with a wildly unwise plan: they secretly bugged the whole neighborhood. Their amateur spy operation, with Wanda's younger brother Ole (Leo Simon) dragged along, uncovered one shocking secret after another behind the neat hedges and closed curtains. Along the way they kept running into Detective Michelle Rauch (Nikeata Thompson). The season ended with the family finally getting Wanda back. Critics loved it, and Season 1 earned a rare perfect 100% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Apple renewed the show for a second eight-episode season soon afterward.
