Watch the last Delta II rocket ever fly for NASA's ICESAT2!

United Launch Alliance will be launching the ICESat 2 satellite for NASA aboard a Delta 2 rocket from SLC-2W at the Vandenberg Air Force Base. IceSat 2 will be deployed to a low Earth polar orbit at an altitude of 500 KM (310 miles) and at a 92 degree inclination.

The satellite was manufactured by Northrup Grumman Innovation Systems (NGIS). It only has a single instrument, the Advanced Topographic Laser Altimeter System (ATLAS), which was designed and built by the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center who will also be managing the mission.
