The DC-10s were designed for luxury air travel in the 1970s. However, it wasn’t long before it was discovered that the planes had a few key design flaws that led to multiple crashes and fatalities over the years. The planes had some of the lowest safety ratings in the 1970s and a crash from one of the planes in Chicago, in 1979 remains the worst crash in American History.
