EXPLORING TURKESTAN in Kazakhstan
Today I'm riding to Turkestan, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Kazakhstan. It is home to the Yasaui Mausoleum, built in the 14th century to host the tomb of Sufi teacher and mystical poet Yasaui.
The most impressive architectural building in Kazakhstan, it reminded me of the beautiful medrassas in Uzbekistan, which were also built by Timur.
