Sylvia is in court to claim £1,840 owed on loans she made to her daughter for the purchase of a caravan. Defendant Anne-Marie says she had to prioritise other debts, as she looked after her mother's dog which caused damage to her house she owes nothing.

Guy is in court to claim £4,000 from his ex-wife for 10% of an outstanding loan made to her son on her recommendation to invest in a new business. Defendant Cynthia says she's not responsible for the debt as the contract was between Guy and her son therefore she owes nothing.
