Retired NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi and physical medium Amy Allan investigate terrifying paranormal activity at family home in Sicily Island, Louisiana. In their separate, intense investigations, Steve uncovers evidence of previous residents who lived with tragedy on the property and a cruel plantation owner who perished during U.S. Civil War. Throughout, Amy confronts a dead entity she believes is the vengeful leader of a dangerous group of shadow people and witnesses a dead old man who terrorizes the living.
