Ken tells Deirdre that he had to work late and she accepts his apology. Wendy suggests that she leaves the Recorder, but Ken tells her there's no need because he wants to be with her and she readily aggrees. In the end Wendy decides to leave the Recorder and when Ken breaks the news to Deirdre, she is delighted. Martin comes down with the mumps and Rita fears the trial.
