When Officer Ryan Cook of the Las Vegas, NV, Metropolitan Police Department responds to a home invasion robbery, he questions the victims, who describe how an unknown suspect kicked in their front door and then demanded to see his wife. Before backup arrives, the erratic man flees into the nearby parking lot and Officer Cook quickly pursues the suspect. Another segment features Officer Frank Brown and Deputy Mark Fry of the Pierce County, WA, Sheriff's Department investigating a suspicious fire and a shooting at a trailer park. At the scene, officers canvass the area and question the startled residents. As the officers search the surrounding dark wooded area, they unexpectedly encounter gunfire. When officers surround the gunman and attempt to negotiate his surrender, the suspect does not comply and the officers are forced to reassess the tense situation
