Jim replaces the broken window, but Steve is frightened to leave the house as the gang hangs around the Street, so Vicky helps Steve escape from the gang, but the gang set upon Andy and leave him a bruised and bloody mess, which causes Liz to become hysterical. Ken apologises to Alma for spoiling her Christmas. He suggests they go away for the New Year and she agrees, so they set off for the Cotswolds. Bet is humiliated and wishes Alec was back. Gail is touched when Ivy buys David a present and Curly is upset that Angie is with Des and gets drunk.
