Bob Hope

Leslie Townes Hope war ein US-amerikanischer Komiker, Schauspieler, Entertainer und Produzent mit einer fast 80-jährigen Karriere und Erfolgen im Varieté, im Radio, Fernsehen und bei USO-Tourneen. Er wirkte in über 70 Kurz- und Spielfilmen mit, davon in 54 Hauptrollen. Dazu gehörte eine Reihe von sieben Musicalkomödien mit dem Titel „Road to ...“ mit Bing Crosby als Partner.

Hope moderierte die Oscarverleihung 19 Mal. Er trat außerdem in zahlreichen Bühnenproduktionen und Fernsehrollen auf und schrieb 14 Bücher. Das Lied „Thanks for the Memory“ war seine Erkennungsmelodie.
