18 months have passed since the events of Day 4. With the exception of David Palmer, Tony Almeida, Michelle Dessler and Chloe O'Brian, the world believes that Jack Bauer is dead. Jack is living near L.A. under the name of Frank Flynn, working on an oil rig and living with Diane Huxley and her teenage son, Derek.

In L.A., David Palmer is visiting his brother Wayne, when he is killed by an assassin's bullet. As CTU scrambles to gather more information, an exploding car bomb kills Michelle and injures Tony. Chloe is also pursued by an unknown figure, but she eludes him and manages to contact Jack for help.

President Charles Logan and his wife Martha are visiting L.A. and are planning to sign an important arms treaty with the president of Russia. Martha seems to be unstable and is badly shaken by the news of Palmer's murder. Logan refuses to heed CTU's warnings of possible danger and call off the summit.

Jack is forced to take Derek along for the ride as he meets with Chloe and fights off a group of men who want him killed. He forces one of the men to confess that Jack has been deliberately framed for the murders of Palmer and Michelle.

Why You Should Watch Hijack: A Thrilling Journey of Suspense and Strategy

In the realm of suspenseful television, few shows have managed to capture audiences quite like Apple TV+'s latest offering, "Hijack." Premiering on June 28, 2023, this thrilling series stars the remarkable Idris Elba as Sam Nelson, a corporate negotiator who finds himself in an unimaginable situation when Flight KA29 is hijacked mid-air during its seven-hour journey from Dubai to London. With only his wits and negotiation skills at his disposal, viewers are taken on a heart-pounding ride that explores themes of courage, strategy, and human resilience.

From the moment you step into the shoes of Sam Nelson aboard Flight KA29, you are thrust into a world rife with tension. The show meticulously builds suspense with each episode as it delves deeper into the psychological complexities of both the hostages and hijackers. As Sam navigates through perilous encounters with the hijackers led by Stuart Atterton (played by Neil Maskell), viewers are drawn into his intricate web of strategies designed not just for survival but for peace. The real-time pacing imbues each episode with urgency and intensity—making it impossible to look away.

One cannot discuss "Hijack" without highlighting its stellar cast beyond Idris Elba. Notable performances from Eve Myles as air traffic controller Alice Sinclair and Christine Adams as Marsha Smith-Nelson add depth to a narrative already rich in suspense. Meanwhile, characters like DI Daniel O'Farrel (played by Max Beesley) provide critical connections between what happens on the plane and how authorities respond on the ground. This layered storytelling enriches your viewing experience while showcasing that even in dire circumstances, every character has their own story worth telling.
