Depuis plusieurs années de nombreux consommateurs se tournent vers les aliments bios, pour préserver l'environnement et leur santé. En France, seules 2% des surfaces cultivées le sont en bio. Le principe du bio consiste à n'utiliser aucun engrais et pesticides chimiques. Pour cela, il ne suffit pas de laisser faire la nature… Loin de là… ! Engrais vert, rotation des cultures, lutte biologique contre les insectes, l'agriculture biologique est moins polluante mais aussi moins productive que l'agriculture conventionnelle. Fred se rend en Bretagne dans un magasin bio, où des agriculteurs vendent directement aux consommateurs leurs productions, où les aliments sont commercialisés sous le label français AB. Il visite également un élevage laitier bio. Sabine de son coté, part dans le Vaucluse et participe à la récolte des courgettes et du raisin bio. Puis elle se rend dans les Bouches-du-Rhône, dans un verger de pomme où est pratiquée la lutte biologique.
