Mercedes sigue muy preocupada por la marcha de Meyni. Ante la amenaza de quiebra y la lluvia de letras devueltas por el banco, Merche intenta cobrar los pedidos por su cuenta, lo que provoca el enfado de Antonio, que cada día se siente menos útil en la empresa. Si la situación no mejora pronto, el despido de ciertos empleados va a resultar inevitable, a menos que Don Pablo invierta más dinero. Pero éste no quiere ni oír hablar de Meyni y, por si fuera a poco, tienta a Antonio para que abandone la empresa y se embarque con él en sus negocios de importación y exportación con la Unión Soviética. En la boutique, a Herminia tampoco le cuadran las cuentas. Ante el descenso de ventas se ve obligada a tomar decisiones que no agradan a Mercedes.
En casa, Toni continúa aguantando las broncas de su padre, que sigue acusándolo de vivir como un señorito, mucho más ahora, después de su frustrada experiencia como peón de albañil.
