Pourquoi Batman est le "chevalier noir" ?

Qui ne connaît pas l’homme chauve-souris, ce super-héros qui surgit de la nuit pour rétablir la justice, et au passage, casser quelques mâchoires ? Je parle bien sûr de Batman, qui a droit à son lot de films réguliers, et ça ne date pas d’hier : personnellement, ses aventures berçaient déjà mon enfance, et celles de nombreux autres longtemps avant moi. Ça remonte quand-même à 1939 cette histoire ! D’ailleurs pour comprendre l’origine profonde de Batman on peut remonter jusqu’au 19e siècle, époque qui puisait elle-même son inspiration… au Moyen Âge !
