Le samedi 5 mars 2022 est une date qu’on va retenir dans l’histoire de l’archéologie sous-marine.
En effet, vous connaissez peut-être les expéditions de James Cameron sur l’épave du Titanic en 1995 pour les besoins de son film, et sur celle du cuirassé nazi Bismarck au large de Brest en 2002. Et bien en 2022, une expédition menée par l’archéologue maritime britannique Mensun Bound a découvert en Antarctique, dans un état de conservation quasiment parfait, la dernière grande épave historique mythique : le trois-mâts ”Endurance ”. Mais alors pourquoi cette découverte est incroyable et en quoi l’Endurance est-il un navire si mythique ? Je vous explique !
