Frau Holle

The story follows two sisters, one kind and hardworking, the other lazy and selfish. The hardworking sister falls into a well and finds herself in the realm of Mother Hulda, a kind old woman who controls the weather. She is given tasks to complete, and her diligence and kindness are rewarded with gold. When she returns home, her sister, envious of the reward, deliberately jumps into the well to seek the same fortune. However, due to her laziness and bad attitude, she is punished with a shower of pitch instead of gold. The tale highlights the value of hard work and kindness, as well as the consequences of envy and laziness.
