Die 17-jährige Sophie Quernheim wird tot aufgefunden. Sie starb auf ähnliche Weise wie 33 Jahre zuvor die damals gleichaltrige Andrea Mahler.
Tatverdächtiger war Sophies Vater, Lutz Quernheim, freigesprochen mangels ausreichender Beweise. Eine DNA-Analyse hat den Beweis inzwischen erbracht, aber das Gesetz verbietet die erneute Strafverfolgung eines Freigesprochenen für dieselbe Tat.
Andreas Vater, Wolfgang Mahler, ist deswegen gescheitert, den Mörder seiner Tochter erneut vor Gericht zu bringen. Nur ein Geständnis könnte daran etwas ändern. Hat er deshalb nach dem alten Rechtssatz „Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn“ gehandelt?
