David Geissler wird in einem roten Abendkleid tot im Kältebecken eines Schwimmbads aufgefunden. Erste Ermittlungen konzentrieren sich auf Manni Stolz und Ben Linnartz.
Die drei haben vor einiger Zeit einen verrückten Männerclub gegründet. In abstrusen Wetten beweisen sie sich und einem großen Online-Publikum ihre Männlichkeit. Bald wird klar, dass David Geissler bei einer dieser Wetten ums Leben kam.
Die Kommissare finden heraus, dass Geissler mit beiden Freunden kurz vor seinem Tod einen heftigen Streit hatte. Hat einer von beiden ihn umgebracht? Oder waren sie es gar gemeinsam?
