Hauptkommissar Bauer bekommt beunruhigende Mails mit Fotos fremder Menschen. Versehen sind sie mit Uhrzeiten. Exakt zu diesen Uhrzeiten werden Anschläge auf besagte Menschen verübt. Für Bauer und sein Team beginnt ein Wettlauf mit der Zeit. Beim nächsten eingehenden Foto müssen sie die Tat verhindern. Will sich ein Täter eines alten Falls an Bauer rächen? Eine Spur führt zu Andrej Sukow, eine andere zu Max Fleischhauer. Bauer selbst findet einen Hinweis, der ihn zu Adam Klein als möglichen Absender der Mails führt. Aber von Adams Bruder Tom erfahren sie, dass Adam nicht mehr lebt. Die Sache wird immer mysteriöser. Da bekommt Bauer eine neue Mail: diesmal mit dem Foto seiner Kollegin Katharina Hahn und der Uhrzeit 12:00 Uhr. Die SOKO ist außer sich vor Sorge.
