Auf einem Campingplatz hat es einen Toten gegeben. Der Lehrer Manfred Maerzke liegt tot in seinem Wohnwagen. Der SOKO-Pathologe Dr. Kraft muss all sein Kombinationsvermögen bemühen, um herauszufinden, woran der Mann gestorben ist. Jemand hat ihn auf perfide Art mit Trockeneis vergiftet. Und dieses Trockeneis ist auf dem Campingplatz für jedermann verfügbar. Wie sich bei den ersten Zeugenbefragungen herausstellt, war Maerzke nicht eben sehr beliebt. Motive, ihn umzubringen, hatten mehrere seiner Campingfreunde. Insbesondere Susanne Kaiser, die bereits eine Gefängnisstrafe wegen Mordes an ihrem Gatten verbüßt hat, kommt den Kommissaren höchst verdächtig vor. Doch sie ist beileibe nicht die einzige. Sowohl Maerzkes Gattin als auch der Sohn hätten Gelegenheit und ein Motiv gehabt, den Haustyrannen für immer loszuwerden. Um weitere Hintergründe zu erfahren, gibt sich Daniel als harmloser Camper aus.
