Set within the offices of a newly created government organization called the 'Nation Building Authority', Utopia offers viewers an up-close and personal view of how major infrastructure projects are handled. From new roads and rail lines to airports and urban developments, this series unveils what goes on behind closed doors of such organizations.
Produced by Working Dog Productions, Utopia premiered on ABC in August 2014. The show revolves around a tight-knit team tasked with guiding enormous building schemes from announcement to unveiling. But as they navigate constant shifts in priorities and balance long-term visions with short-term gains, their journey is anything but smooth, resulting in well-designed white elephants instead.
