The Fantastic Four are Marvel’s First Family — iconic, beloved, and foundational to the Marvel Universe. But despite their popularity in the comics, bringing them to life on the big screen has proven incredibly difficult. From the low-budget 1990s version, to the mid-2000s reboot, to Josh Trank’s dark and divisive take, no live-action team has truly captured the magic.

Now, with the Fantastic Four officially joining the MCU, all eyes are on Marvel Studios to finally get the casting right. But why has it been so hard to cast these characters in the first place? And will this next version of the Fantastic Four be the one that finally sticks?
