Miwa Kanzaki, a former company employee, is now a full-time housewife after quitting her job to try for a child with her husband, Hiroki. However, her marriage is struggling—while Hiroki appears ideal in public, he treats her harshly in private. Feeling trapped, Miwa reconnects with her childhood friend, Ryo, who once was her hero. They spend a night together, and Miwa later discovers she's pregnant with his child. Afraid of divorce and being a single mom without a job, she decides to tell her husband the baby is his.
