Elizabeth is in court to claim £3,362.72 from her current tenants for rent arrears and damage done to her property. The defendants deny causing any damage and say as the property is uninhabitable they owe nothing. They are counterclaiming £3,190 for emotional distress.

Ben is in court to claim £3,500 for an outstanding loan he made to his brother to buy a motorbike. Defendant James says he isn’t in a position to repay the loan and as they are family, the debt should be written off.
