With her professional and personal life finally back on track, Karen meets attractive well-read builder Gareth, and after much deliberation agrees to go on a date with him. Adam and Pete find themselves cornered into holding a joint 50th birthday dinner. However, celebrations quickly unravel as a surprise visitor with an unexpected revelation threatens to cut the evening short - with Pete hearing some home truths.
