In the the Northern Kingdoms, you're just as likely to die of rogue magic or a rampaging monster as old age. The best hope to battle these vile evils? Witchers; hunters trained and transformed by magic at an exceptionally early age in all manner of defeating monsters. One of the most infamous- and sexy- of Witchers is Geralt of Rivia (who isn't actually from Rivia). As Geralt fought across the country, he also loved; and his affections fell upon the powerful sorceress Yennefer.
During his many travels of ghostbusting, Geralt saved the life of Princess Pavetta and her husband Duny. Using an old and rather creepy custom known as the Law of Surprise, Geralt asked to be repaid with the couple's unborn child. Totally not weird at all.
When she grew older, Geralt eventually took Ciri to the Witcher training grounds of Kaer Morhen to partake in the deadly practices that made him the white-haired warrior he is today. There the girl began her own epic journey.
Geralt endured his own hardships; during a riot against non-humans, Geralt was nearly killed and he awoke with no memory of his past. This affliction continued for a while, and The Witcher fought and loved anew. It isn't until now, that Geralt's memories of Yennifer, Ciri, and the debts he has yet to repay have returned.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a role-playing action video game developed by CD Projekt RED. It is set for a release date of May 19 2015 on the Xbox, Playstation and PC. The game is based on the novel of the same title by author Andrzej Sapowski. The game is the sequel to the first two titles, The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
